As one of the world's leading offshore financial centres, Guernsey's economy is booming, supported by organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Industry and the Island's main regulatory body, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. There are many reasons for the Island's success, such as its autonomous government and political stability, but there is also a genuinely entrepreneurial spirit.
For example, Guernsey can now deal on the new Channel Islands' Stock Exchange, which has obvious benefits for any of the hundreds of International banks and financial organisations which are resident here. Local business is served by professions such a law, accountancy and recruitment, as well as property and retail estate agents, which support living and working in such a desirable location.
